This is the English version of a Russian book which presents in a concise and clear form the basic elements of algebraic and differential topology which the author considers indispensable for specialists and useful for research mathematicians and theoretical physicists. One gets here notions and results related to manifolds, cell spaces, coverings and fibrations, homotopy groups, homology and cohomology, intersection index, etc. Only those proofs (or sketches of proofs) are given that are interesting per se and have important generalizations.
