The authors prove that if a continuous CR mapping between smooth real analytic hypersurfaces of finite type in \(\mathbb{C}^n\) extends as an analytic set, then it extends as a holomorphic mapping. As an application, the authors recover the theorem of Diederich-Fornaess (for \(n=2\)), which says that a proper holomorphic mapping between two bounded algebraic domains in \(\mathbb{C}^n\) extends holomorphically across the boundaries.
