Localization of \({\mathcal V}\)-categories (English)

The localization process described by \textit{W. G. Dwyer} and \textit{D. M. Kan} [J. Pure Appl. Algebra 17, No. 3, 267-284 (1980; Zbl 0485.18012)] applies to categories enriched in simplicial sets. The present paper generalizes this to enrichment in a symmetric monoidal closed category \({\mathcal V}\) with a compatible simplicial model structure. The envisaged applications have \({\mathcal V}\) as category of spectra.
