The author gives a description of strong central algebras one of whose components is a de Bruijn groupoid, but leaves entirely open the question of the existence of strong central algebras neither of whose components is de Bruijn.NEWLINENEWLINENEWLINEIn fact, the author obtains, from a central algebra \((S,*,+)\), the consequence that the variety of strong central algebras is a subvariety of the variety of central algebras. Interest in these varieties stems from the close connection to the variety of central groupoids.
