The new logic can be considered as a model of a logical agent's behaviour. Much of what the new logic comprehends is theoretical cognitive science, including relevant parts of computer science and any other discipline that bears in a principled way on how cognitive processes operate. In this paper the authors discuss the basic relationships of new logic with psychologism and with `old' logic, including the treatment of the complexity problem, the approximation problem and the consequence problem.
