The author gives a description of the known manuscripts of Hebrew translations of the Elements. He notes evidence that the translations of Moses ibn Tibbon, Jacob ben Makhir, and Jacob Anatoli, all members of the same family, are not independent of one another and outlines work that could disentangle the different contributions. In addition, he identifies a fourth, anonymous, translator who seemingly worked from the Latin, notes that some ms. glosses shed new light on the al-Ḥajaj tradition, and describes the Hebrew tradition based on Avicenna. One may hope to see in a book the details of the arguments outlined in this paper.NEWLINENEWLINEFor the entire collection see [Zbl 0959.00025].
