Asymptotic expansions and extrapolation for positive linear operators (English)

E. A. Komleva [Izv. Vyssh. Uchebn. Zaved., Math. 1959 4, No. 4(11), 89-93 (1959; Zbl 0142.32003)] initiated the study of asymptotical expansions that corresponds to a given sequence of positive linear operators approximating a function \(f\) continuous on \([0,1]\). The main result of the present paper concerns the acceleration of convergence under suitable conditions pertaining to the regularity of \(f\). It is obtained by applying classical extrapolation methods to new asymptotical expansions for the given sequence of positive operators. The results of the paper are too technical to be reproduced in detail here.
