Preconditioning Legendre spectral collocation methods for elliptic problems. II: Finite element operators (English)

This paper continues the research of the author on preconditioning of the Legendre-collocation method started in the first part [ibid. 39, No. 1, 330-347 (2001; reviewed above)]. Here, using the same techniques as in the first part but considering a preconditioning by bilinear finite elements (with knots at the Gauss-Lobatto points), the author obtains the same theoretically results.
