This monograph belongs to the series in high energy physics, cosmology and gravitation, and within this series, represents the more theoretical and mathematical parts of gravitation.NEWLINENEWLINENEWLINEChapter 1 is on space, time and gravitation, and chapter 2 on its symmetries. Here, the conformal symmetries play the most important role. Chapters 3, 4 and 6 deal with gauge invariance, and chapter 5 with Hamiltonian dynamics. Chapters 7 and 8 introduce several theories of gravity, and the remaining 3 chapters deal with Supergravity, Kaluza-Klein theory and String theory.NEWLINENEWLINENEWLINEAt the ends of the chapters, nice exercises are formulated, thus making this monograph also worth for an advanced university course in mathematical physics. The book ends with useful references and an index.
