The paper deals with the Faddeev model [\textit{L.~D.~Faddeev}, Differential-geometric structures, and quantum field theory (Russian), Internat. Conf. on the Mathematical Problems of Quantum Field Theory and Quantum Statistics. Part I. Axiomatic Quantum Field Theory. Tr. Mat. Inst. Steklov 135, 218-223 (1975)] proposed for the description of leptons. This is a physical model for which the field takes the values on the two-dimensional sphere \(S^2\). The author's investigations demonstrate that in this model states with nontrivial Hopf invariant exist that realize the energy minimum and have toroidal structure.
