Investigation of acceleration mechanism and erosion of electrodes in electrodynamic railguns of projectiles (English)

The paper deals with two main problems which arise in the development of macrobodies accelerators. Namely, the investigation of macrobody acceleration and increasing of the erosion resistance of the accelerator electrodes. It is noted that a complete solution of the problem for practically applicable macrobodies accelerators is adequate to the solution of the problem of maintaining metal conductivity of high-pressure contact along the whole channel at macrobody acceleration up to a prescribed velocity.
