This book consists of the articles devoted to moiré measurements which are based on the grating diffraction method. Using this method one can geometrically determine the surface of the specimen, in particular, to study two-dimensional deformation patterns. Hence, such measurements can be useful in the study of elasticity, plasticity etc. The titles of the following articles represent the scope of investigations: Localized thermal strains in electronic interconnections by microscopic moiré interferometry. Titanium in the elastic tension: micromechanical deformation. Micromechanical thermal deformation of unidirectional boron/aluminium composite. Assessment of the shape of crack-tip plastic zones as a function of applied load. Deformation around fatigue cracks from moiré fringe measurement. Experimental and computational assessment of the \(T^*\) fracture parameter during creep relaxation. Moiré interferometry and crack cosure. Verification of numerical models used in microelectronic product development. Analysis of residual stresses in a die-attaching adhesive. Interlaminar deformation along the cylindrical surface of a hole in laminated composites. Thick laminated composites in compression: free-edge effects on ply-by-ply basis. Loading effects in composite beam specimen. Elastic-plastic hole expansion: an experimental and theoretical investigation. Determination of thermal stresses near a bimaterial interface. Grid method of damage analysis of ductile materials. A contact problem. Real-time video moiré topography.
