D-brane physics at low energies (English)

In how many dimensions do we live? After remarks about early motivations for large extra dimensions the author considers low scale strings. Type \(\text{I}/\text{I}^2\) string theory and D-branes as well as type II theories are introduced and related to one another. Theoretical implications are discussed with respect to the UV/IR correspondence, the unification, and supersymmetry breaking and scales hierarchy. [See also \textit{I. Antoniadis} and \textit{K.
