The author considers a model reference adaptive control problem when the relative degree and order of the plant are unknown. A two-dimensional adaptive switching controller is constructed that stabilizes every minimum phase single-input-single-output system and guarantees that the asymptotic value of the tracking error is less than a given arbitrary small value in the presence of a bounded disturbance and a bounded reference model input.
