Controlling bifurcations in dynamical systems (English)
    0 references
As is well known, typical bifurcation control objectives include stabilizing a bifurcated solution or branch, delaying the onset of an inherent bifurcation, changing the parameter values of an existing bifurcation point, modifying the shape or type of a bifurcation chain, introducing a new bifurcation at a preferable parameter value, monitoring the amplitude, frequency and/or multiplicity of some limit cycles emerging from a bifurcation, optimizing the system performance near a bifurcation point, or a combination of some of these objectives. This paper gives an overview on this field of research of bifurcation control and puts the main subject of bifurcation control into perspective. There is a bibliography of 94 items.
