A new necessary and sufficient condition for a sequence to be u.d. mod 1 is obtained by using so-called multiplicative system. A new measure for the irregularity of distribution of sequences, so-called \(B\)-adic diaphony, is proposed and its order of the sequences of Faure is obtained.NEWLINENEWLINE[Editorial remark: For an extended version, cf.
