A course on complex analysis. (English)

This is a nicely written textbook on complex analysis in one variable. All details a beginner in the subject should expect are included. Complete proofs are given, even in the more complicated cases, when some technical preparations are needed. The authors have accumulated a considerable collection of exercises. The text may serve well for a one-semester-course (in German terms) but this depends on time spent for covering the preparations from two- dimensional analysis. To make the text self-contained, all these preparations are included. According to the taste of the reviewer the links to what a student already might have learned from multi-dimensional analysis are not well visible. But that seems to be quite common for courses in complex analysis.
