Note on some oscillation theorems in a recent paper (Q2721553)

The authors react to the paper of \textit{P. J. Y. Wong} and \textit{R. P. Agarwal} [Math. Comput. Modelling 21, No. 3, 63-84 (1995; Zbl 0820.39002)], where oscillation and asymptotic properties of solutions of the nonlinear second order difference equation NEWLINE\[NEWLINE \Delta (a_{n-1}(\Delta y_{n-1})^{\sigma})+F(n,y_n)= G(n,y_n,\Delta y_n) NEWLINE\]NEWLINE are investigated, and provide counterexamples to some results presented in that paper. However, they do not indicate an error in the proofs given in Wong and Agarwal's paper.
