Let \(c\in \{1,2,4\}\). The authors give all positive integer solutions \((a,x,y,m,n)\) of the equation \((ax^n\pm c)/(ax^m\pm c)= y^2+1\) with \(m\equiv n\pmod 2\). The proofs are elementary.
