This book treats computerized tomography and contains mathematical and algorithmical descriptions of the methods used in this domain. The book is divided into seven chapters:NEWLINENEWLINENEWLINEAn introduction presents the basic problems and the main mathematical tools needed in the following. The second chapter is devoted to the various transforms allowing reconstruction, the proto-type being the Radon transform. Chapter 3 describes the different tomography models and technologies. After explanations on stability and resolution in chapter 4, chapter 5 treats the reconstruction algorithms. Chapter 6 speaks of specificities of certain formulations when data is incomplete or orientations unknown. Finally, the last chapter investigates nonlinear tomography.NEWLINENEWLINENEWLINEThe book supposes a sound mathematical background at graduate level from the reader and is devoted to people wanting a deep insight into the theoretical problems of image reconstruction in real application situations.
