The splitting of invariant Lagrangian submanifolds: geometry and dynamics (English)
0 references
This is a careful study of the splitting of invariant manifolds, both from the point of view of Euclidean and symplectic geometry. The main notions are symplectic angle and Euclidean angle of two Lagrangian submanifolds of a general symplectic manifold, with a detailed discussion in the cotangent bundle case. From the point of view of applications, the author illustrates the relevance of these notions in the problem of heteroclinic connections between nearby tori and in the estimation of transition times along chains of hyperbolic fixed points.NEWLINENEWLINEFor the entire collection see [Zbl 0958.00039].
