The author proves a simple new lower bound for the reliability of the consecutive-\(k\)-out-of-\(n:F\) system with equal component failure probabilities, complementing the upper bound established by \textit{M. Muselli} [Stat. Probab. Lett. 46, No. 3, 239-249 (2000; Zbl 0961.60071)]. The bounds are shown to perform better than those of \textit{J. C. Fu} [IEEE Trans. Reliab. R-34, 127-130 (1985; Zbl 0564.62083)] and others based on the Stein-Chen method.
