The stochastic model of double-stranded molecule (DNA) replication was introduced by \textit{R. Cowan} and \textit{S.N. Chiu} [J. Appl. Probab. 31, No. 2, 301-308 (1994; Zbl 0798.92016)]. Their model involves the limit \(\ell \) at infinity of the solution of a quasi-renewal equation, with exponentially distributed inter-arrivals. In ibid. 37, No. 1, 269-275 (2000; Zbl 0958.60082), the author of the present note wrote down the value of \(\ell \) as an infinite series with infinite products. In this note he shows that \(\ell \), as a function of a parameter of the model, is the divisors generating function, well-known in number theory.
