Seismic stochastic response of base isolated buildings (English)
0 references
The present paper is devoted to an examination of some issues of the seismic response of base isolated buildings from the stochastic viewpoint. The reason supporting such an option is that stochastic analysis has the advantage over conventional deterministic approaches that its results cannot be attributed to the details of a single acceleration record but to a family of possible earthquake ground motions. The authors apply the method of stochastic linearization for the seismic analysis of buildings. The selected systems are the lead-rubber bearings and the friction pendulum system, as they represent two of the most used seismic isolation appliances.NEWLINENEWLINEFor the entire collection see [Zbl 0959.00020].
