Multidimensional scaling with constraints using simulated annealing (English)

A simulated annealing based procedure is proposed as an alternative to the method of \textit{J. De Leeuw} and \textit{W. Heiser} [Multivariate Analysis V, Pittsburgh 1978, 501-522 (1980; Zbl 0468.62054)], for the linear constraints case. The two methods are compared by working out two examples.
