The goal of this volume is to introduce the Maple language, presenting its rich basis and the possibilities to use it. Following the logicalness of this formal computation and trying that the learning curve be not to steep, the author, professor of physics at the preparatory classes at Saint-Louis high school in Paris, realizes a valuable textbook; as it can be seen from the contents, i.e.: 1. Generalities about Maple; 2. Manipulation of numbers; 3. Algebraic computation; 4. Complements about expressions and functions; 5. Graphs; 6. Solutions of equations; 7. Differentiation and integration; 8. Study of differential equations; 9. Limits, sequences, asymptotic developments; 10. Tables, matrices, linear algebra; 11. Programmation; 12. Procedures, most of the basic mathematics is treated in a convenient form- as the title (Sugar) puts into evidence. We mention the fact that the author tries to find a French translation of the language.NEWLINENEWLINENEWLINEThe volume is useful for high schools and for the first years at universities.
