Joint inverse dynamic problem for the 1D heterogeneous isotropic medium (English)

The author deals with the so-called joint inverse dynamic seismic problem. An attempt is made to increase the precision of reconstructing the medium structure. The problem is solved for media with absorption. The absorption of a medium is simulated as a coefficient of the first-order derivative with respect to the time coordinate for the general system of dynamic elasticity theory.NEWLINENEWLINE The aim of the article is to present an algorithm which is based on the model of elastic wave propagation using the given information on the structure along certain intervals of the boreholes for a more detailed reconstruction of the medium structure in the vicinity of the boreholes. The author finds solutions to the direct and inverse problems provided that the medium absorption function is given and exposes a numerical algorithm for solving the problems together with the results of numerical experiments.
