The article contains a biography of Yu. P. Studnev and the exposition of his works on the problems of different types of convergence to normal distribution, estimation of the rate of convergence in the limit theorems of probability theory, generalization of limit theorems of probability theory, probability-theoretic problems connected with non-monotonic distribution functions, quasi-probabilistic schemes and their applications to the ordinary and partial differential equations. A list of 66 publications from 1952 till 1995 is presented.
