Propagation and absorption of concentration effects near shock hypersurfaces for the heat equation (English)
0 references
The author studies families of solutions to the heat equation with small parameter and a propagation term consisting of a discontinuous vector field through a smooth compact hypersurface. The evolution is described, as the parameter tends to zero, of the energy density of the solutions corresponding to a bounded square integrable family of initial data.
