The authors consider traditional numerical methods on unstructured grids for two-dimensional Euler and Navier-Stokes compressible flows. The special attention is paid to the construction of good approximations of gradients of functions based on the function values at centroids of cells (control volumes). Three different procedures are compaired on the basis of numerical experiments for several inviscid and viscous laminar compressible flows. One of the problems deals with ``double-throated nozzle grid'' and has about 4500 elements.
