The \(2+1\)-dimensional Minkowski spacetime is considered from the differential geometric point of view in analogy to the Euclidean signature case. Especially, properties of curves and surfaces are deduced. In contrast to other papers on this topic, the analogy between the cos-function from Euclidean signature to the cosh-function in the Lorentz signature case is well presented and applied.
