The first class of algebras considered in this paper axiomatizes certain properties of the real unit interval \([0,1]\) equipped with (the dual of) truncated subtraction. Various kinds of additional properties are considered, and in some cases they are shown to precisely yield the variety of (C. C. Chang's) MV-algebras.
