Quadratic invariants and symplectic structure of general linear methods (English)
0 references
The aim of the present paper is to unify and extend the existing results and to investigate under which condition a general linear method (GLM) is symplectic in an extended sense when applied to Hamiltonian systems of differential equations and under what conditions a GLM inherits the quadratic invariants possessed by the differential equation systems being integrated.
