The \(q\)-ultraspherical polynomials and some identities of the Rogers-Ramanujan type (English)

The main purpose of this paper is to give two transformation formulas for \(q\)-series using two simple properties of \(q\)-ultraspherical polynomials. These formulas and the Rogers-Ramanujan identities are then used to provide new and simple proofs of some identies of Rogers-Ramanujan type.
