This is a very well-written book, containing a wealth of material on metric fixed point theory. The author has given a systematic development of the subject. There are various open problems which will be a valuable source for young researchers. The book will be of immense use to researchers in the field. The list of references is quite impressive. I am sure that everyone with an interest in fixed point theory will welcome a new edition in one's personal library.
