In this paper the Gauss sum \(\sum_{n \bmod D} (D/n) \exp(2\pi\text{ir}n/D)\) for discriminants \(D = D_0f^2\) of orders in quadratic number fields has been computed. For earlier work see \textit{J. de Seguier} [C. R. Acad. Sci., Paris 123, 166-168 (1896; JFM 27.0143.03)].
