An introduction to cryptography (English)
0 references
In this very nice book (this is the third printing), the author introduces at an undergraduate level the following topics: Origins, computer arithmetic and complexity (chapter 1), symmetric-key cryptosystems (chapter 2), public-key cryptosystems (chapter 3), primality testing (chapter 4), factoring (chapter 5) and some advanced topics (chapter 6). NEWLINENEWLINENEWLINEThis book pays a lot of attention to the history of this research field, what makes the reading very enjoyable. Lots of exercices are provided, as well as some solutions to them. Two appendices are given: The first one is devoted to the Rijndael S-box: Rijndael is the finalist of the AES competition and will (almost surely) become the standard in secret key cryptography. The second one recalls some fundamental facts in algebra, number theory, and elementary algebraic geometry.
