Stochastic processes in reliability (English)

In this scholarly review, the authors describe recent applications of stochastic processes to reliability theory. They discuss various aging properties of first passage times and stochastic comparisons of diverse maintenance policies. Various planned and unplanned replacement policies are studied in great detail and are applied to obtain stochastic comparison of point processes that are associated with general repair models. Computational results are presented for some stochastic comparison results associated with random hazard functions in a random environment.NEWLINENEWLINEFor the entire collection see [Zbl 0961.60001].
