A robust numerical algorithm for the optimal control of heat transfer in the continuous casting of steel (English)
0 references
The paper concerns the optimal control of a two-phase heat transfer problem arising from the continuous steel casting process. The control action is performed via boundary conditions imposed on the computational region under consideration. Firstly, the authors introduce the continuous casting process and the equations governing the heat transfer and solidification of steel in the process. Then, an inverse problem associated with boundary controls is formulated mathematically and solved numerically. Finally, a numerical example is presented to demonstrate the application of the numerical algorithm for finding the optimal boundary cooling conditions for the casting.NEWLINENEWLINEFor the entire collection see [Zbl 0962.00004].
