This paper presents a very well written account of the state of the art in two important topics of CR geometry: the Fefferman metric and the Lee conjecture. The focus is on the author's and B. Barletta's results. Each of the two topics is introduced by a brief exposition of the definitions and basic constructions. The paper ends with some comments suggesting possible further research directions and open problems.
