A simple transient analysis of an M/M/1/N queue (English)

Time-dependent state probabilities of an M/M/1/N queue with finite waiting space are obtained as an infinite series on similar lines to that given for M/M/1//\(\infty\) queue [\textit{O. P. Sharma} and \textit{B. D. Bunday}, Optimization 40, No. 1, 79-84 (1997; Zbl 0876.60076)]. As the coefficients in the series satisfy iterative recurrence relations, this form is particularly useful for numerical computations.
