Inequality for the norms of Hermite functions on a finite interval. (English)
0 references
Hermite polynomials and functions are basically used in new numerical projection methods for Fourier type inverse transforms, i.e., Fourier-sine or Fourier-cosine transforms, on a base of experimental data. Some properties of a system of orthonormal even Hermite functions in \(L_2(0, \infty)\) are investigated here. An inequality of the norms of the even Hermite functions on a finite interval is given. A recurrent relation for the norms is presented.
