On characteristic equations, trace identities and Casimir operators of simple Lie algebras (Q2738002)

The authors study the higher order Casimir operators in simple complex/compact real Lie algebras \(g\). They provide various relations among the structure constants of \(g\), and invariant tensors. The approach used by the authors allows one to apply computational methods and computer programs in order to describe high powers of Casimir operators in ``large'' Lie algebras.
