The energy momentum tensor in the Bogoluibov-Epstein-Glaser approach to perturbation theroy is studied. It is found to be locally conserved for a class of theories containing no derivated fields in the interaction. For massless \(\phi^4\) -theory the trace anomaly of the improved tensor is derived.
