Galerkin method for a nonlinear hyperbolic equation (English)

The authors study approximation schemes of Galerkin finite element methods for a nonlinear second order hyperbolic equation. Error estimates for the solution of the discussed problems and the solution of the discrete approximation scheme are obtained. Finally, by means of an elliptic projection operator, some error estimation on norm and energy-norm are derived.
