A two-dimensional mathematical model of the temperature field in the coke furnace pressure zone is elaborated. Different phases of the coke process are estimated. Properties of the model connected with the geometry of the domain, the nonlinear differential equations and the nonlinear boundary conditions are investigated. The numerical realization of the model is based on a finite-difference approximation of the differential equations and the boundary conditions on the five-point pattern. A simple and effective linerization of the nonlinear boundary conditions is proposed.
