In this paper, spherically symmetric self-gravitating thin shells with orbiting constituents (special configuration of dust particles that follow elliptic or hyperbolic orbits) are studied. Two differences from geodesic motion in the Schwarzschild geometry are found: 1) the existence of minimal possible critical value for angular momentum at which it becomes possible for particles to have an elliptic orbit; 2) the coexistence of elliptic (or hyperbolic) orbits and wormhole solution for the same values of parameters.
