The authors consider the splitting extrapolation based on domain decomposition for a mixed finite element approximation of the biharmonic equation occurring in large scale scientific and engineering computations in parallel. They give the multi-variate asymptotic expansions of mixed elements on independent mesh parameters for biharmonic equations.
