\textit{S. Kakutani} [``Selected Papers'', Vol. 1, Birkhäuser (1986; Zbl 0609.01049) 154-158] provides a proof of the Hahn-Banach theorem using the Markov-Kakutani theorem. In this paper the author uses the Hahn-Banach theorem to provide a proof of the Markov-Kakutani theorem.
