Quadrilateral elements for the solution of elasto-plastic finite strain problems (English)
0 references
The authors propose two new plane strain quadrilateral elements with two and four variables. The new elements called Qi5B-bar and Qi6B-bar allow a stable finite element simulation of elasto-plastic finite strain problems. The paper provides the theoretical background for the construction of elements as well as numerous numerical results for different test samples (block upsetting, Cook's membrane, indentation problem, elastic stability of a circular ring, tension test). The numerical results obtained by using the new elements are compared with results obtained by some known standard elements.
